'This is a viral tsunami': U.S. hits record for daily COVID-19 deaths

The U.S. recorded more than 3,700 new deaths linked to the virus on Tuesday, a chilling new high, as well as the most COVID-19 hospitalizations, with more than 124,600 patients nationwide, according to the COVID Tracking Project.
